Most of the general public presume that saturated fats and trans fats should be grouped together into one singular category. Although large amounts of saturated fats are not healthy, the toxicity of trans fats causes these two to technically be in two different groups. Trans fats are made by having hydrogen molecules transformed into a liquid oil, which is linked to diabetes, heart disease, and many other harmful conditions. The industrial process that they go through makes them much more dangerous than natural trans fat found in animal products.
