What makes foods healthy? The USDA is working to set out guidelines on just how the word healthy can be used on food.
According to dietary experts the less processed a food is the healthier it is but not all food even though it contains chemicals is unhealthy. Chemicals alone don’t completely define healthful. Less healthy foods can be those items known to cause disease such as diabetes, stroke and cancer.
Experts agree, packaging guidelines defining healthy need be established for food packaging. Consumers will then have the knowledge to make the best decisions concerning their diet and daily food.
