What Happens When You Stop Eating Carbs?

July 14, 2017 By Darrell Miller

There are many advantages to a low-carb diet, there are also many disadvantages. The public must be aware that the benefits of a low-carb diet come at a cost. People who practice a low-carb diet burn more fat and suffer less from weight problems. Such people have less sugar related diseases such as type 2 diabetes. Likewise, they have less cholesterol related health problems. On the down side, people who practice low-carb diets will have more digestive problems, have less energy, and suffer from a calorie deficiency. In the end – it is up to the individual whether they want to indulge in the benefits of a low-carb diet while suffering from the detriments of it.

Key Takeaways:

  • The crash that results after eating foods high in sugar can leave you feeling tired and in a haze.
  • Cutting back on the intake of certain carbs can help reduce your LDL cholesterol levels.
  • Insufficient consumption of carbs that provide fiber could lead to digestive problems and colon damage.

“Trimming down your carb intake isn’t the only way to burn body fat, though — especially all on its own. Losing fat takes a combination of the right foods (especially healthy fats!) and a fitness routine that works your whole body at once.”
