Women who regularly consume diet soda and artificially sweetened drinks are 30% more likely to develop cardiovascular problems over time as opposed to women who do not regularly consume these drinks. This study was on 600,000 postmenopausal women who were then followed up after nine years. Even though this study has not been scrutinized or published in a medical journal, the recommendation is to put down the can and decrease your risk of future health problems.
