Amino Acid Overview
I remember about a decade ago and I was just a teen who wanted to improve his body in any way he could so of course the solution was to go to the gym and exercise. The first thing I heard was words like protein and amino acids. Well I guess it is all well and good because these things as they said were the building blocks of muscle. So of course as a the new kid on the block I really did not mind much at that time and just made sure I had enough of it and I remember this one fitness instructor at that gym talking about free form amino acids as being better than other types of amino acids and at that time I did not mind why. So like a good kid I took their advice and got me some free form amino acid supplement from the local supplement store. Well needless to say I was happy that I followed their advice but nowadays sometimes it gets me thinking why free form is better than other amino acids. I figured that the only way to be able to truly answer this is to first find out what this type of amino acid is like.
Free form amino acid
These types of amino acids are singular molecules which are basically not attached to peptide bonds which are also attached to other amino acids. The other good thing about this type of amino acid is that it is pre digested which means it does need digestion for the body to be able to absorb it so in a way that is already a plus because it will be absorbed by the body quicker. In addition this would also mean that it will not cause harm to the body as it will not leave any undigested substance floating around in the body and free to bind itself with other substances or in the walls of the intestines to cause problems. Research has shown that in less severe scenarios these undigested proteins may cause bloating, nausea and culminate to being peptides and eventually cause further problems in the body.
Free form amino acids also will provide other benefits like aiding in the completion of the enzyme production in the body and also help with hormone level maintenance. It also has been shown to be able to help greatly with muscle tissue building and nervous system maintenance. Another benefit of free form amino acids is that it is hypo allergenic and what this means is that for athletes that may be allergic to certain proteins which is commonly referred to as protein toxicity issues in athletes and body builders, it will allow them to have the improvements that they need to have without worrying about their protein source because what they truly need from whole protein is the amino acids that it will yield when digested.
