Heart Health Superfoods

March 11, 2021 By Darrell Miller

There are many foods out there that are healthy for your heart. Beets are a great food for heart health because they have a high amount of nitrates in them which keep your blood vessels dilated and healthy. Tofu is a great substitute for meat and/or pork as it is a plant protein and can lower the risk of heart disease by nearly 20 percent. Finally, blueberries are a great source for fiber and contain antioxidants that help improve heart health.

Key Takeaways:

  • Beets have a high dose of nitrates which work to keep blood vessels dilated and healthy. Beets can also lower blood pressure.
  • Tofu is a great way to lower your risk of heart disease as it’s a great substitute for red meat or pork, as it’s a plant protein.
  • Salmon is high in omega-3 fatty acids which can help fight the risk of heart failure, stroke and other heart diseases.
