Inflammation drives progression of Alzheimer’s

December 27, 2017 By Darrell Miller

It was interesting that the human body’s natural response to a change in neurotransmissions adds to or causes this disease. The human body in all of its systems uses inflammatory responses to protect itself. But it seems that this programmed and automatic response is actually causing the brain more harm. I think that the more scientists and researchers can learn about the brains natural chemistry and reactions, the closer they will be to a cure.

Key Takeaways:

  • The degeneration of the brain in Alzheimer’s disease is influenced by the inflammatory response of Abeta in the brain.
  • In alzheimer’s disease, NLRP3 has been shown to be active and correlates with the progression.
  • This study shows a correlation of AC-Abeta binding and the spreading of Alzheimers.

“Therefore, targeting this immune response will be a novel treatment modality for Alzheimer’s”
