March 20, 2019 By Darrell Miller

Frankincense is an oil that is made from the Boswellia tree and has anti-inflammatory effects on those who ingest it, which is a benefit if the individual has arthritis. Arthritis is a common ailment that causes joint pain and inflammation. Studies show that frankincense has the capability to break down the compounds that cause inflammation in those who have arthritis. Of particular, frankincense can be especially beneficial for those who have osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis. Previous studies have demonstrated that frankincense reduces stiffness, reduced pain, and reduced swelling in the joints as compared to those who were given a placebo. While studies are still ongoing, all of the evidence points to frankincense being a great natural treatment for joint pain.

Key Takeaways:

  • Arthritis is an oft-experiened condition, marked by pain and inflammation in the joints.
  • Arthritis occurs at all ages and among all types of people, yet is most prevalent among seniors and womem.
  • Researchers at the University of Alabama discovered that compounds in frankincense are capable of blocking arthritic inflammation by attaching themselves to inflammation-causing proteins.
