Studies have shown that children who take prebiotics are less likely to gain an obsessive amount of weight, and are more likely to lose weight. It has been found that if there is a problem with the microbiota in the body, it can cause obesity and type 2 diabetes. A study was conducted to see if by taking a prebiotic, children’s microbiota would be regulated and therefore either preventing obesity or reversing it. The studies results were conclusive to this theory.
