Regular brushing can eliminate oral bacteria that is thought to cause cancer. A recent study correlated breast cancer with women who had poor oral health or gum disease, they have oral microbes linked to the cancer. Pancreatic cancer has also been shown to have a correlation. Bacteria found in bowel cancer has also been found in patients with bleeding gums due to the same bacteria. Studies are currently being done on esophageal cancer that may also be linked to mouth bacteria.
