Supercharge Your Immune System With These 10 Foods

April 4, 2017 By Darrell Miller

Good nutrition can strengthen your immune system. Natural, chemical-free foods will benefit you more than will processed foods.

Some helpful foods are:
1. Citrus fruits and dark leafy greens both contain high levels of Vitamin C.
2. Ginger, especially fresh, kills rhinoviruses that cause colds.
3. Red Bell Peppers are high in Vitamins C and E and also in carotenoids. Green bell peppers are also good, but they don’t contain quite as much Vitamin C.
4. Bone Broth provides antioxidants, minerals, vitamins, collagens, and amino acids.
5. Yogurt is a good source of probiotics.
6. Garlic can help fight off infections because it contains a substance called allicin.
7. Oysters and other foods high in zinc help regulate the immune system.
8. Turmeric enhances your antibody responses.
9. Bananas are excellent sources of Vitamin B6, which provides support to the immune system.
10. Sweet potatoes and other orange foods provide carotenoids.

Key Takeaways:

  • If you get sick, your immune system needs help to fight what invaded your body. It is even better to elevate your immune system before you get sick.
  • Superfoods are citrus fruits, ginger, red bell peppers, bone broth, yogurt, garlic, oysters, turmeric, bananas, and sweet potatoes.
  • Superfoods are whole and unprocessed which means they don’t contain any of the additives that can harm your body.

“Being proactive about your health and wellness is always better than being reactive. A healthy diet, coupled with a low-stress lifestyle, exercise and rich social connections, can help you fight off infections on your own so you don’t have to resort to antibiotics and medications that contain harmful side effects.”
