The front and center portion of the brain referred to as the Prefrontal cortex (PFC), which is the Thinking part of your brain is what makes all the good decisions. The second part of the brain, anterior cingulate cortex also referred to as ACC, controls emotions, except fear, and is supposed to work in conjunction with the PFC. It is generally recommended to talk to a psychotherapist, who will assist in creating a program that will assist in recovery and retraining the brain’s functionality.
