The nutrient you didn’t know you were missing

January 8, 2017 By VitaNet Staff

Choline is a lesser known nutrient that most people don’t even consider when building up their nutrition guide. Due to this, most Americans aren’t receiving the amount of choline that they need, despite it being a nutrient that’s found in a variety of foods. However, the problem arises in that choline is either found in small amounts or in unpopular foods. Choline is very beneficial in situations such as omega-3 fatty acid and B vitamin absorption, in pregnancy, in memory processing and storage, acetylcholine, and a variety of other essential aspects of health.

Key Takeaways:

  • Choline is a hot research topic and for good reason. It’s essential to health at all ages and stages, and is especially critical for brain development. Apparently, we arent getting enough of this ingredient in our diets.
  • People have not heard of this ingredient like they should be hearing about it. It’s a very important ingredient for a healthy body
  • There are a number of benefits to taking choline. It can greatly benefit many different things in our body

“Choline is found in many different foods, but in small amounts. Plus, the foods that are rich in choline aren’t the most popular: think liver, egg yolks and lima beans.”
