Athletes are becoming more in tune with mental abilities and the powers of the mind. Danielle Crempola is a runner who suffered a back injury requiring surgery. When she was ready to return to physical competition she found it was very discouraging and she was not able to return to her peak performance. She began studying mental techniques and training her brain as well as her body. This caused a complete change in her outlook and as she became more positive, she also was able to achieve her peak physical condition again as well. Olympic athletes also praise mental techniques and credit training the mind as being equal in importance to training the body.
