The U.S. Department Of Health and Human Services, National Digestive Diseases Info. defines constipation as when one has a bowel movement fewer than 3 times per week. IMO, if you are not going at least once per day, you have a case of constipation!
In a perfect world we should have 2 – 3 bowel movements daily.
Think about it, a properly functioning elimination process is essential to good health. The foods we eat are digested, nutrients are extracted by the body, what is left? Undigested material that needs to be eliminated from the body. The longer this digested material lays in the digestive tract, the more chances it can rot and cause diseases, even allergies from the undigested portions.
For Temp relief of constipation:
- Drink lots of water
- get plenty of fiber (30 grams per day)
- In case of complete stoppage take a laxative
Do not suffer from chronic constipation. take a psyllium husk fiber supplement and drink plenty of water to maintain daily bowel movements.
