People looking out for their health often demonize carbohydrates, and think that they are to be avoided. However, that’s not really the case – what matters is a further distinction between different types of carbs, the good carbs and the bad. While we all know that processes sugar, high-fructose corn syrup, and simple starches should be avoided, healthy eaters should embrace natural, more complex types of carbs such as those from plants high in fiber. These include fruits, certain tubers, and vegetables. Consuming these carbs helps to moderate blood glucose and can also create other positive health impacts.
