Infl ammation as a health hazard

April 5, 2021 By Darrell Miller

Inflammation is older than humanity itself. There are signs of it in dinosaur bones. Inflammation is actually designed to help the bottle heal. Swelling, redness and pain are all part of the body’s repair process. Acute inflammation that resolves quickly is not a concern, but chronic inflammation can cause heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, and many other diseases. White blood cells that are released in response to a threat end up attacking healthy organs and tissue. Stress can cause this to happen, as can allergies, medications and environmental toxins. A diet high in red meat, dairy, sugar and refined carbohydrates is also a problem. Aside from eating healthier foods, chewing food thoroughly and drinking lots of water are beneficial.

Key Takeaways:

  • Inflammation is older than humanity itself and the earliest signs of inflammatory processes were found on the bones of dinosaurs.
  • Much later and perhaps independently, the use of plants to cure inflammatory diseases was perpetuated by the Greeks too.
  • The problem, however, is that if one is always stressed out about work, money, relationships, one’s worries cycle like a hamster wheel and one finds oneself in a constant state of anxiety.

“And lo, the blister was gone in just four days to the relief of everyone at home.”
