The CDC released a new report stating that 2/3 of US children have at least one sugary drink per day, with 30 percent having at least two a day. Sugar can cause high cholesterol, type 2 diabetes and obesity n children. The American Heart Association recommends no more than 100 calories of sugar per day for a healthy diet. The American Beverage Association has promised to continue healthy initiatives including clear nutritional information labeling to help people make informed decisions.
