Insufficient amounts can lead to constipation, diabetes, high blood pressure, and many other ailments. Recommended daily intake of fiber is 21-25 grams for women and 30-38 grams for men. Most Indians unfortunately get only half that amount. Good sources of fiber include guava, mango, Chia seeds, green vegetables, and sprouted moong. Additionally, eating seasonal fruit and salad twice a day or more is suggested.
