Can Zero Calorie Stevia Help Me Loose Weight?

Studies around the world are showing that more and more people are becoming overweight and the problem is more prone in urban areas especially in developed countries. Although some weight problems are due to genetics, the main reason for weight gain is taking more calories in form of food and drinks than ones body can use to produce energy. This problem is usually worsened by eating fast foods which are high in sugar.

Keeping ones weight in check is very important not only to the affected by weight gain, but also by friends and families. Checking your weight helps to remove the stigmatization that comes with overweight. It also helps you create more friends and have successful relationships. Some people leave their partner when the partners gain too much weight.

Keeping you weight down can also widen you career opportunities. Most employers prefer employing individual who are physically fit. Being physically fit also reduces the chances of having those diseases that are associated with overweight such as heart problems.

Reduce calories by sweetening with stevia:

steviaStevia is gaining popularity among people who are interested in reducing their weight or those who do not want to add more weight. Stevia is a plant extract used as sweetener instead of sugar. To make Stevia, the juice from a plant called Stevia Rebaudiana is extracted and then refined into powder or liquid. The result, it is as much as 200 times sweeter that sugar.

The glycosides from Stevia cannot be metabolized by the body and hence no calorie results from taking it.

By replacing sugar with Stevia in you drinks and baking, you will be able to reduce the amount of calories that you take and hence aid you in losing weight. However, it should be noted that even if you use Stevia you can still gain weight if you continue to eat more calories than you burn in a day.

It is easy to consume a large amount of calories through soda pop.  Switching to an herbal tea with stevia, or going to diet soda drinks will help reduce total calorie intake.

Maintaining a good weight is important to good health.  Let stevia help you reduce your weight with out giving up your sweet tooth.
