A lawsuit has been introduced that says diet soda is falsely advertised due to it causing you to gain weight instead of lose it. To cut out the calories, diet soda takes out its sugar and substitutes a chemical called aspartame. This chemical is actually sweeter than sugar, and can cause your body to crave sugar more and not process insulin as well. Due to this, drinking a lot of diet soda actually leads to more cravings of other foods and can cause weight gain and diabetes. While the pop may have less calories, you can still gain weight and eat more due to the chemical makeup of the pop.
