Vitamin C has been said to help with male infertility. There were some subjects that were part of a study to test to see if vitamin c could possibly help with it. There were several husbands tested with fertile wives that were having trouble conceiving. Some were given twenty milligrams of vitamin c and some were given nothing as a way to really test the results. At the end of the twenty days, all of the men that were given the vitamin C had gotten their wives pregnant.
Key Takeaways:
- 1,000 mg of vitamin C was given to people who typically suffer from lead poisoning which harms fertility. Studies showed large increase in sperm count.
- The lead levels didn’t change in their system so it’s not exactly like they are being detoxed but instead being supplemented.
- 1,000 mg of Vitamin C seems to be the magic number as of now because 200mg didn’t see the same benefits.
“An earlier study showed vitamin C supplementation apparently cut lead levels by a third within six months, but that was with a whopping dose of 2 g with added zinc.”
