We’ve all seen it, the green stuff lurking on the counters of health food stores. Trendy peoples walking around sipping on bright green smoothies. But what exactly is that deep green stuff? It’s an algae called Spirulina that grows in tropical waters. Before you are overcome with nausea at the thought of consuming a slimy algae, let’s review it’s benefits. Spirulina usually comes in tablet or powdered form. It is a super food packed with nutrients that boost the immune system, reduce fatigue and increase mental and physical alertness.
